A new online platform is born. Portugal Tech Hub is an alliance of both public and private organizations committed to putting our country on the map as an attractive destination for technology companies and professionals alike.
This is an initiative of more than twenty promoters. Some are important national entities, such as IAPMEI, AICEP, or STARTUP LISBOA, but others have recognized international experience, like Landing.Jobs. The goal is simple: to increase current tech investment from overseas companies and to attract over 160,000 new IT talent.
By bringing together a large number (and variety) of promoters, the project will help foster collaborations, as well as turn Portugal into an internationally renowned Tech Hub. The website will also have information available on cultural matters, geographical aspects, demographic, cost of living, and human resources.
Portugal is a growing tech destination
The launching event took place at Future.Works 22, which ran on the 7-8 October, at Lisbon Congress Center. Over 3,000 participants were there, together with the online presence of entrepreneurs and investors from more than 110 countries. And the timing couldn’t be better.
In 2021, Portugal reached a record number of 200 Foreign Direct Investment Projects, the majority of which from Software and IT services. Lisbon was also recently ranked as the 4th most popular startup hub due to its value for money, supportive ecosystem, and availability of specialized talent.
